Futex Labs CB Scara Medium Overview

The Futex Scara Medium ceramic 3D printer is the smallest model in the Scara lineup. It is designed to have the full functionality of our Scara printers but can operate in confined spaces.

Purchase Information
To purchase the Futex Scara Medium, please contact us. We accept cash, check, or wire transfer. Credit card payments will incur a 3% fee.
User Interface (WiFi)
Duet Web Control: A fully developed UI for the Scara, accessible via a web browser on any WiFi-capable device (laptop, tablet, phone, etc.).
Capabilities
The Scara Medium can perform large-scale ceramic 3D printing using real clay. Its advanced design supports substantial onboard loads, such as the Futex 3600ml clay extruder or a hose assembly.
Software Requirements
None! Only a web browser interface is required.
Object Generation
The Scara Medium functions like other 3D printers, requiring an STL file to be sliced by third-party software (Simplify3D or Cura). Files are loaded to the printer's SD card over WiFi.
Speed and Noise
The Scara Medium can achieve extreme speeds (up to 130 mm/s), depending on factors like nozzle size and layer height. It operates quietly, suitable for any area without disturbing the surroundings.
Construction and Design
Constructed from heavy aircraft-grade 6061 aluminum with CNC and welded components, ensuring strength and rigidity. The drive motors are sophisticated hybrid closed-loop stepper motors for zero error positioning.
Drive Mechanisms
Utilizes heavy-duty harmonic drive units, the same used in large industrial robots, for precision movement with no backlash or jittery movements at realistic speeds.
Space Needed for Setup
The Scara Medium can be positioned on a substantial tabletop or its own dedicated space. It requires direct mounting for maximum stability, with a minimum of 1.5" thick heavy plywood or wood construction for tabletops.
