Overview

The Scara Elite v2 is our refined large-scale cement 3D printer, capable of printing with cement and featuring a larger build volume than the Scara v4. It excels when coupled with a large capacity continuous high-pressure hose extrusion system, capable of delivering cement loads between 85 - 250 lbs of continuous extrusion.

Speed and Noise

The Scara Elite v2 is capable of extreme speeds (up to 130 mm/s), depending on factors like nozzle size and layer height. It maintains low noise levels, making it suitable for operation in any area without disturbing the surroundings.

Construction and Design

The Scara Elite v2 is crafted from heavy aircraft-grade 6061 aluminum using CNC and welded components for maximum strength and rigidity. The main rail components are from IGUS, a leading German manufacturer of precision guide rails. The drive motors are sophisticated hybrid closed-loop stepper motors with onboard computers for zero error positioning.

Drive Mechanisms

The Scara Elite v2 features heavy-duty harmonic drive units, the same used in large industrial robots. These drives offer precision movement down to fractions of a degree, ensuring very precise prints with no backlash or jittery movements at realistic speeds.

Space Needed for Setup

The Scara Elite v2 can be mounted on a sturdy tabletop or given its own dedicated space. It requires direct mounting for maximum stability, with a minimum of 1.5" thick heavy plywood or wood construction for tabletops. Proper mounting is crucial for optimal printer performance.

Connectivity Options

Full control through the web interface, no apps or software installation required. Non-WiFi versions are available; please contact us if you would prefer an Ethernet connection.

Software Requirements

None! Only a web browser interface is required.

Object Generation

The Scara Elite v2 functions like other 3D printers, requiring an STL file to be sliced by third-party software (Simplify3D recommended). Files are transferred to the printer’s SD card via WiFi.
