Futex Scara V4 Overview

Price: From $19,500.00
The Futex Scara V4 is our largest model for 3D ceramic and paste printing with our extruder system. Note that 4000ml extruders will have a reduced maximum speed due to kinetic energy changes that can occur while 3D printing.

Purchase Information
To purchase the Futex Scara V4, please contact us. We accept cash, check, or wire transfer. Credit card payments will incur a 3% fee.
User Interface (WiFi)
Duet Web Control: A fully developed UI for the Scara, accessible via a web browser on any WiFi-capable device (laptop, tablet, phone, etc.).
Software Requirements
None! Only a web browser interface is required.
Object Generation
The Scara V4 functions like other 3D printers, requiring an STL file to be sliced by third-party software (Simplify3D or Cura). Files are loaded to the printer's SD card over WiFi.
Speed and Noise
The Scara V4 can achieve extreme speeds (up to 130 mm/s), depending on factors like nozzle size and layer height. It operates quietly, suitable for any area without disturbing the surroundings.
Construction and Design
Constructed from heavy aircraft-grade 6061 aluminum with CNC and welded components, ensuring strength and rigidity. The main rail components are from IGUS, a leading German manufacturer of precision guide rails. The drive motors are sophisticated hybrid closed-loop stepper motors for zero error positioning.
Drive Mechanisms
Utilizes heavy-duty harmonic drive units, the same used in large industrial robots, for precision movement with no backlash or jittery movements at realistic speeds. These drives are designed for maximum rigidity with extreme accuracy.
Space Needed for Setup
The Scara V4 can be positioned on a substantial tabletop or its own dedicated space. It requires direct mounting for maximum stability, with a minimum of 1.5" thick heavy plywood or wood construction for tabletops.
Connectivity Options
Full control through the web interface, no apps or software installation required. Non-WiFi versions are available; please contact us if you would prefer an Ethernet connection.
Conclusion
The Scara V4 is the first viable large-scale ceramic 3D printer using real clay, with advanced design and substantial construction to handle onboard loads like the 3D Potter 4000ml clay extruder. Ideal for various applications, it offers high precision and accuracy in a robust, reliable machine.
